Alien Employment Permit (AEP)
An AEP is required for foreign nationals intending to work in the Philippines. However, some individuals may be exempt or excluded from this requirement.

Exemptions and Exclusions
Certain individuals may bypass the AEP requirement through exemption or exclusion:
Certificate of Exemption (COEx) Applicants:
- Diplomatic or official personnel
- Officers and staff of international organizations
- POEA-accredited owners and representatives interviewing Filipino candidates for overseas employment
- Applicants teaching, presenting, or conducting research for Philippine universities, corporations, or government
- Permanent, temporary, or probationary foreign national visa holders
- Refugees and stateless persons
- Other foreign nationals granted exemption by law
Certificate of Exclusion (COExm) Applicants:
- Members of the governing board with voting rights only
